![]() ![]() If you are low on Blinkroot, save it for the other potions. The Night Owl Potion would not be as useful without a Shine Potion for mining, but it has its own standalone uses for increasing visibility. You can do this on the surface and even give the Truffle NPC a home. Expand the area and you can make a very productive farm. It will then spread to other mud blocks, and the mushrooms will spawn naturally. The seeds have a chance to drop when mining the mushrooms. You can grow your own by taking mushroom grass seeds and planting them in mud blocks. Glowing Mushroom - Find these in an underground mushroom biome.Daybloom - Blooms during daytime (Surprise!) on the surface.I love them for mining as, although I do light everything up with torches as I explore, it lets me see while my character works without constantly placing them. This isn't as useful if you do have one of those, but it can keep you safer and is a potion everyone should know how to make for late-night battles. The Shine Potion makes your character emit light for 5 minutes, as though you were wearing a mining helmet, but without the loss of defense. The chargers are not to be taken lightly early in the game - their armor and health are far too high. The ones that are buried are not guaranteed to drop one, but the larger ones can drop 2-3 of them. Antlion Mandible - Head to the desert, where you will find a few varieties of Antlion.If you're short on Blinkroot, save those for more Spelunker Potions! This does stack with mining armor and is even more effective if you've got a fast pickaxe. This one is not nearly as good as a Spelunker, but is definitely worthy of the time needed to gather the ingredients. Combine this with a Spelunker Potion, and you're in a great situation to collect loads of ore. The Mining Potion allows you 8 minutes of enhanced Mining speed - 25%! Do not even bother using it with a drill, however. Gold or Platinum Ore - Sacrificing just one piece of ore will allow you to gather much more.Blooms at night, which is when you will get seeds to allow you to farm more for your potions. Try to get it when it's 'on' (glowing) and you'll receive seeds. You can place dirt blocks outside - away from grass - and blinkroot will spawn naturally, you can then put it in a planter to produce them. Blinkroot - Grows on dirt without grass.Bottled Water - see the making potions guide linked above.Gather the following ingredients to make one: The effect lasts 5 minutes, which is similar to the others here. When it comes to mining, it's the most useful potion though it works best in combination with the others. Spelunker Potions reveal everything around - treasures, ore, heart crystals, and treasure chests. The Spelunker Potion is the best of the four here, so it should naturally be listed first. You'll find more ore the deeper you go, although the challenge increases as well. Use these potions when you're at least in the Underground so they are not a waste. In the screenshot above, my character is quite deep - near the bottom of the Cavern layer. There is a materials checklist to make a stack of ten of each of these potions at the bottom. If you already know all that and just need a list of ingredients, this will help. By making a garden area, you can have an infinite supply of potions.
